Sam and Charlotte tied the knot at Homestead Court Hotel in Welwyn Garden City.
Getting Ready
Charlotte got ready in the bridal suite in the hotel with her bridesmaids. Charlotte was so relaxed and calm throughout the morning, nobody would have thought she was getting married in a few hours! i take the opportunity during the early part of getting ready to gather all the items i need for the detail shots, shoes, necklace, perfume etc before the chaos sets as we get closer to the ceremony.
Sam was getting ready round his mum & dads house not far from the hotel so when I had half hour/45 mins to spare I managed to get some pictures of Sam and his groomsmen including his grandad! After spending a little time taking some shots and chatting to Sam I headed back to the hotel to get some last final shots of Charlotte getting ready & into her dress!
The Ceremony
Sam was already waiting in the ceremony room with his guests seated and waiting for the arrival of the beautiful bride. I actually went to school with Sam so i felt extremely privileged to be able to capture his special day & watching him and his dad tearing up before Charlotte walked in almost had me in tears too!
The ceremony was so beautiful, I do love it when a groom sheds a tear when his bride walks down the aisle! I think everyone was trying holding back the tears of joy!
After the ceremony & once the newly wed couple had spoke to their guests who were congratulating them, we went into the garden to photograph the formal photos. I usually try and get these done quite quickly after the ceremony so that we have plenty of time for portrait shots of the bride and groom.
The Evening
Soon enough it was time for the speeches and dinner time! The room and tables were so gorgeously decorated & I love seeing all the different themes people come up with. The speeches as always were great to photograph & capturing people's reactions too. It was lovely to have some time to catch up with so many people that I hadn't seen in such a long time from school & capturing spontaneous moments throughout the evening also. Finally it was time for the last formality of the day - the first dance.
It was such a lovely atmosphere and I loved capturing Sam & Charlottes wedding day.
