Kelly & Dean

The Cromwell, Stevenage | April 2018
I first met Kelly & Dean at their home in Stevenage after they had seen me at the first Wedding fair that I had exhibited at, Knebworth Barns. I remember our meeting in 2016 to be full of laughter and jokes and we got on like a house on fire; I instantly loved them both. I understood then, that shooting their wedding was going to be extremely relaxed and a rewarding experience - I wasn’t wrong!
Kelly & Dean got married at The Cromwell Hotel in Stevenage in April 2018, and surprisingly it was a beautiful hot sunny day. You wouldn’t think that a hotel on the High Street would be so stunning, but with such a stylish décor which compliments the character of the building, it really is a venue worth visiting.

The Wedding Day

I arrived at the venue roughly an hour before the Ceremony. The venue was beautifully decorated, in which we both captured before I documented Kelly and her bridesmaids getting ready in her room. Paul continued to document the groom and guests arriving downstairs. A moment that I will never forget is watching Kelly’s dad see his beautiful daughter in her dress for the first time – completely and utterly magical.
The ceremony was just breathtaking; I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room – including me! I couldn’t stop smiling at watching two people who were clearly completely in love, becoming husband and wife. There’s many reasons why I love to document weddings and one of them is seeing pure love in the Bride and Grooms eyes as they become one for the rest of their lives.
After the ceremony the guests formed a confetti tunnel where Kelly & Dean walked down just after they tied the knot – I love confetti tunnels!
The garden to the side of the venue is exquisite where we found a few good spots for some memorable photographs.

The Evening

Although the reception was in the same venue as the ceremony, it was big enough for the venue staff to have the tables all ready for the wedding breakfast & the ceremony room was turned around whilst the guests were celebrating the new Mr and Mrs – which I thought was a massive bonus.
After the delicious meal, there was speeches from Nick (father of the bride), Dean, Jackie (best woman) & Kelly. As always the speeches have me in tears of laughter – especially when Elvis showed up
Kicking off the evening Kelly & Dean cut their cake and went straight into their First Dance, dancing to (Song)– at this point my cheek bones were hurting so much from smiling…all day! Then they topped it off with a daddy daughter dance & Dean started to dance with Kelly’s mum.
The party went well into the night, with a finger buffet provided by the venue and good tunes provided by the DJ Dave Hayman, followed by some interesting moves on the dance floor – including a second dance by the bride and groom
Thank you Kelly & Dean for being such an incredible and welcoming couple to us both, we loved documenting your day & hope that you enjoy your photos more as the years go on…
